Career Video Challenge: U.S. Department of Labor to Award $1,000

15careersVideoThe U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced the first phase of the Career Videos for America’s Job Seekers Challenge, a competition that aims to bring greater awareness to and participation in 15 high-wage and in-demand occupations identified by the Employment and Training Administration.

This is an exciting opportunity to showcase how CTE programs prepare students for the future, and possibly win $1,000! The videos should highlight the daily activities, necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, and career pathways of one of the selected occupations.

DOL staff will screen all submissions and take recommendations from the public (including job seekers, One Stop Career Center staff, and partners in the workforce development system) to determine the winning video of each occupational category.

Top videos will be posted on DOL web sites and the winners will receive $1,000.

Submissions are open through June 18, 2010. Find instructions at http://www.dolvideochallenge.ideascale.com.
