PERKINS UPDATE
The House Education and the Workforce (HEW) Committee held a markup session for H.R. 5587– The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act– legislation that would reauthorize the Carl D. Perkins Act. The markup provided the opportunity for committee members to make amendments and changes to this legislation, which was introduced in late June. The committee ultimately voted 37-0Â to refer the bill to the full chamber for a House-wide vote (at a date still to be determined).
Ahead of this Advance CTE sent a letter of support for committee passage of H.R. 5587Â which is available here.
